JOB DETAILS
Each month, SET arranges thousands of freight shipments across all freight modes and equipment types. Our operations are highly dependent upon software platforms licensed from outside vendors, which SET uses to facilitate everything from onboarding and monitoring our network of tens-of-thousands of contracted third-party motor carriers, to processing payments and invoicing, to tracking and efficiently dispatching shipments.
In this new role, you will lead technology projects and initiatives to improve supply chain efficiency for SET’s customers, deliver workflow process improvement for SET, reduce SET’s risk and reliance on outsourced software, and even improve the way truckers find and get paid for hauling freight. These projects will include customization of existing software, and development of new web and mobile-app platforms to provide market-shifting, disruptive solutions to an industry ripe for shakeup.
In addition to Freight Brokerage software initiatives, SET’s leadership team has also created a separate, consumer-facing mobile app to solve the ‘logistics’ problem of manually transporting families’ bulky beach gear from their vacation rental properties to the waterfront. It’s admittedly a very niche-focused solution, but wildly scalable and very exciting. In your role as Lead Developer for SET, you also will lead this project’s get-to-market effort, bringing the full tech stack in-house from what has so far been outsourced to a third-party development team.
JOB SUMMARY
- Develop front and back-end software stack for mobile and web apps
- Maintain software function and address ongoing service for both business and consumer users
- Provide ongoing communication to non-technical Product Owners
- Lead ongoing process improvement across multiple, separate tech platforms
- Manage SET’s licensed software vendors for day-to-day freight brokerage operations
WE LOOK FOR - QUALIFICATIONS
- 01 Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 02 Expertise with current front and back-end development platforms for both web and mobile technology
- 03 3+ years of proven experience in a full stack software development role
- 04 Keen eye and talent for building engaging and intuitive User Interfaces
- 05 Excellent, professional communication skills; both verbally and written
- 06 Exceptional, creative problem-solving skills
- 07 Excellent time management, organization, and multi-tasking skills
- 08 Team player who finds joy in learning and thrives in a collaborative environment
- 09 Proficiency with Agile methodology is a plus
